"IL SANTO" is Umberto Sangiovanni, a pianist, composer, record producer and sound designer from Rome, Italy. He is mostly active in the Jazz, Nu Jazz and Lounge music genres, but ventures also into a wide variety of other musical styles.  On this album he cooperates with 4 fantastic Italian vocalists: Marta Colombo aka Marte, Ornella Pellegrino aka Eighty, Silvia Empler, Marzia Lami aka Momi,  who gave the name to the album, as their voices sound as if they were Girls from Heaven. Umberto has participated in several international jazz festivals in Spain, Morocco, UK, Germany and, of course, Italy and is the founder and leader of one of the best known bands in Italy that mixes jazz with world music: DauniaOrchestra with whom he has recorded 2 CD´s.  Over many years he has had various encounters with DJ´s and artists leading to an interest in dance and electronic music, particularly the kind of lounge music that allowed for the fusing of genres that he had been playing as a musician, such as jazz and latin.  Il Santo performs with his band and in duo on vocals and piano.
