Новый альбом британского музыканта (электроника).

2016 album from UK singer-songwriter/producer with co-writing help from Frank Ocean & additional production by Rick Rubin. Contains 17 tracks including 'I Need a Forest Fire" featuring Justin Vernon aka Bon Iver.

James Blake is a melancholy soul but I suspect that we would not have him any other way.
His new album ‘The Colour In Anything’ is a reflective and somewhat sombre collection. 17
tracks, coming in to land at just over an hour and a quarter playing time. What sets Mr Blake’s
compositions ahead of many other artists on Planet Electronica is his ability to find soul amongst
the machines. This has everything to do with his beautiful voice; whether singing “straight” or
subjecting it to multiple technological manipulations it remains, always, a deeply affecting
instrument. Haunting in fact. If his performance of the song ‘f.o.r.e.v.e.r.’ doesn’t make you
shiver from top to tail then there is little hope for your heart. It is an utterly sublime invention.

The instrumental arrangements are thematically complex but economical. There is plenty
of space within which the tunes are able to breathe. In my mind’s ear two sonic colours
dominate : blue and grey - like slowly moving clouds in a November sky. An Autumnal palette.

Top tracks? Goodness me, where to start? ‘Choose Me’ totally blew me away with the power
and pain of its central vocal performance bursting out an utterly bonkers but brilliant harmonic
foundation; ‘I Need A Forest Fire’, a gorgeously strange collaboration with Bon Iver; ‘Always’,
for its crisp soulful simplicity and touching lyrics and ‘Points’, a truly heartbreaking composition.

There is nothing not to love here. Mr Blake’s genius grows ever self-evident. A moody masterpiece.
