For the forth edition of this classic series, Blank & Jones went both into their archives again and then met in their studio playing the records to each other. What sounds like pure fun, is pure fun!
This time the two passionate record collectors present some rare italo disco classics in the full 12" versions, mixes from ABC, Tears For Fears, The Cure and Frankie Goes To Hollywood on CD for the very first time and also the first Stock Aikten Waterman production on a so8os release.
But it's not about rare mixes just for the rarity of it, they also have to convince them in quality and songwriting. Of course this is a very subjective collection, but that's exactly what makes it so special and so different from all the other genre releases. It's simply done with heart and soul. With a look at the tracklisting it becomes very clearly that they want to celebrate the whole variety of the 80s by presenting not only italo disco heroes like Gazebo, Den Harrow or Mike Francis, but also feature post punk band PIL, goth legends Sisters Of Mercy or even lesser known acts like Book Of Love, Gang Of Four or Hitlist.
The non stop dj mix on cd one is a highlight as well, as it brings the original 80s mix flavour to your speakers.
