geoplastik was born in a tectonic process: sudden outbursts of creation disrupting a long hiatus. like a beacon, each track refers to a special place on a map of mind and matter. it is composed of rock, earth, strata of petrified ash and mud, its colors are drab. gone is the nervous quest for significance and attention. geoplastik is glacial in its pace: slow, plodding analog synthesizers scrape away at the spectrum while digital chisels chip off crystalline shards of sound. sequencers tie together sound, shape and time into solid structures. more often than not, the electric bass guitar imparts the spirit of the anthropocene. taking its cues from the ways the earth is shaped, molded and mangled, geoplastik tries to capture the random beauty of mindless creation frequently found in earths landscapes.
