Dutch Electro band Angels and Agony and their mastermind and singer Reinier Kahle have worked for almost three years on a follow-up to their highly praised album “Avatar". Well worth the wait, “Unison” delivers from the first note to the last with all 13 tracks carrying the groups distinctive and trademark sound, a refreshing perfection of their own unique style. The songs combine the catchy melodies of Synth and Future Pop with the heavy hitting impact of EBM and some groovy dance elements, while carefully avoiding all of the usual Trance-clichés. But what makes Angels and Agony really stand out from the crowd is an emotional depth that is reflected through the use of subtle melancholy intertwined with dark and melodic musical textures.
