Kebu (alias Sebastian Teir) from Finland is a bright comet in the starry sky of synthesizer music, whose YouTube videos have gathered tens of millions of views and fans from all around the globe. He was recently awarded the Schallwelle Award - the German prize for electronic music - as Best Artist 2017. Kebu was commissioned by his birth town, Kristiinankaupunki, for making a special composition celebrating Finland‘s centenary of independence. The result is a 17-minute long piece for synths, orchestral percussion, soprano and a 100-person large choir. The composition is called „Kring havet - Meren ympärillä“ („About the sea“) and tells about nature, phenomena, thoughts and feelings that the sea has given rise to. The EP presents the first performance of the composition on Finland‘s 100th birthday - the 6th of December 2017 - at Kristiinankaupunki. It was performed by Kebu on an electric grand piano and synthesizers with soprano Lisbet Säll, percussionist Andre Engeholm, and a 100-person large choir, consisting of male choirs and female choirs from Kristiina nkaupunki and Lapväärtti, conducted by Anders Teir.
