Zweite Jugend consists of two people: Marcel L. (Drums) and Eli van Vegas (Vocals, Sequences). Marcel is also playing for Jäger 90 and Hätzer and is a resident member of Combat Company. Eli is founder and resident member of Combat Company, trafo21 and former Medien.Krebs.Therapie.
Marcel and Eli had the idea for a side project in the summer of 2013 and even the name was set: Zweite Jugend. With the separation of Homer and Eli at Combat Company in the spring of 2015 – Eli continues working on Combat Company together with Marcel – Marcel and Eli decided to take the chance and to found the band after all. Just a moment afterthey began rehearsing a cover show they already played with Combat Company before, which they played in July 2015 instead of Combat Company at a private party. Most of those songs derive from punk music, in which the boys found their attitude only – but not as a guide for writingsongs or creating their sound – and finally they wrote their own songs since Sepember 2015 to be released on this album.
A strict vision unites both musicians: The Music of Zweite Jugend should be minimalistic, absolutely analogue, pure and nevertheless provocative and aggressive. This pervates the complete writing of songs and leads into an album with the working title “Liebe Ist Luxus”. A borrowing from the early work of DAF, Nitzer Ebb and Die Krupps is essential therefor.
