Despite a dearth of releases since their stunning debut, ‘Advanced Burial Technology’, almost a decade ago, Je$us Loves Amerika have spent the last couple of years rebuilding their profile following a lengthy hiatus. Not only have there been support slots with some of the world’s leading alt. acts including Frontline Assembly, Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb, but JLA toured the UK earlier this year as part of the Incineratour alongside label mates Concrete Lung and Digicore. There was also a rare incursion into Europe with a successful headline show in Stockholm, JLA have been steadily building a name for themselves as an electrifying live unit.
As fiercely political as ever, JLA’s sonic arsenal has improved exponentially over the years and their smarter, more universal sound is showcased on lead track ‘FYA. Mixed and produced by Phil Barry (Cubanate / Be My Enemy), ‘FYA; is a snarling monster of a track that’s in serious danger of establishing JLA as one of the UK’s leading alternative bands.
