When the Dolls appeared in the early 1970s in New York from the underground, including a fulminant debut album, an eruption went through the pop and rock world of the metropolises NY, Paris and London. The band with David Johansen (voc.), Johnny Thunders (lead guitar), Sylvain Sylvain (rhythm guitar), Arthur ‚Killer‘ Kane (bass) and Jerry Nolan (drums) took over their androgyny from Bowie, Jagger and Marc Bolan.
