LEGEND are an Icelandic duo composed of Krummi Björgvinsson, artist and singer/songwriter of the famed rock band MINUS, and Halldor Björnsson, composer/producer of innumerable works of musical mastercraft. Over the past ten years these two friends had both separately become giants on the Scandinavian music scene. As the tale is told, one night their passion for electronica, plus a seemingly quasi-telepathic studio work process - and copious amounts of beer - led a song called "Devil In Me" to be born. This song was leaked to an Icelandic radio station and soared to the top of the charts. Realising this had become more than an experiment, the duo took the name LEGEND, after Ridley Scott's cult film about a fantastical battle between darkness and light. The same theme of spiritual conflict permeates their music, leading many to label it as 80s goth electro. But, rest assured, this collaboration is luminous, as these two talents combined shine brightly.
The long awaited debut album "Fearless" is a cohesive work that lies between a glacial synth and gloomy industrial sounds of 80s era. "Fearless" was self-released in Iceland to astonishing reviews, including comparisons to what reads like a who's who of modern music. An essential record that will keep giving back! Expect this album to be awarded ALBUM OF THE MONTH in not a few magazines!
"Dark, depressing music that's still fun and danceable, in the same vein as DORSETSHIRE or THE TEAR GARDEN" - Rebecca Louder, Reykjavik Grapevine "They cannot do much wrong" — Bast Magazine "If someone releases a better album this year than 'Fearless' we will be astounded" — The Ghost of Leif Ericson blog "'Fearless' is DARK. Dark as in sexy-death dark. Dark as in heavy-gothic-shades-of-decaying-grandeur dark" - Reykjavik S*x Farm "The album is an incredibly well arranged and beautifully complete piece of work; a soundtrack to all your most intimate, shady and dirty thoughts" — Icelandic Music Blog "Highly conceptual, referential and danceable, this new-darkwave duo have the big ones it takes to back up their name" — Reykjavik Grapevine: Icelandic Airwaves coverage
