After "Abyss Desires" from 2009, the second album of the electro pop duo AVOID-A-VOID will be released on ECHOZONE on 26 October. With "Musique Noire" composer and producer Rico and vocalist Falo present their own definition of electro pop merging with alternative electro and classic synth pop.
More than on the first album, experimental sound structures and an exceedingly fresh joy of electronic playing flow in the music. The entire sound is kept together by Falo's infrectious and catchy style of singing.
“Abyss Desires“ is Rico’s and Falo’s first album of their new project Aviod-A-Void although they have already played in various other bands (e. g. Silver & Gallery of Fear) for years.
The album reflects a period of development of 10 years which has only now attained full maturity in form of these 12 album songs standing comparison with other genre bands.
The appeal of “Abyss Desires“ lies in its sophisticated electronic arrangements skillfully combining retro-sounds, EBM to mid-tempo beats and atmospheric bodies of sound and forming a homogenous symbiosis by means of Falo’s singing as well as the subtle or ironic lyrics.
Drawing comparisons with Depeche Mode, Camouflage and De/Vision is quite appropriate, but cannot question Avoid-A-Void's individuality. The compositions show that they have been implemented with a certain sobriety without having to jump on each and every latest trend. The fact that straight dancefloor songs like "Deja Vu" as well as wonderfully melancholic Electro Pop songs like "A Hell Of Heaven" and pulsing Future Pop song like "Ignorant" or "If We Were One" have found a place on this album shows that with "Abyss Desires" the band succeeded in presenting a really well done Electro Pop album.
