The 3rd of the new acts we introduce this Spring hails like SURGYN from the UK – and shares with SURGYN the feature of not one but two singers, and a sound built on the backbone of EBM. Incorporating guitars and a variety of influences from dark rock to 80s rave, on their appropriately-titled debut album „Genesys”
CYFERDYNE skilfully blend these disparate elements into a powerful and cohesive whole – that in its many musical twists and turns recalls PANIC LIFT’s brilliant debut “Winess To Our Collapse” or even SURGYN themselves. With CYFERDYNE’s evident gift for evocative and melodic songwriting given crisp production through the mixing of Phil Barry (BE MY ENEMY/CUBANATE) and mastering of Kolja Trelle (SOMAN), it is apparent that in “Genesys” we have yet another outstanding and captivating debut album from another emerging talent to add to the DWA roster. Despite CYFERDYNE being a new act, on the strength of the material alone we had no difficulty persuading established luminaries of the scene like GRENDEL
and ALIEN VAMPIRES to pitch in with remixes, alongside another maelstrom of a mix from longtime DWA favourite CEDIGEST. Perfectly illustrated with futuristic artwork from Vlad McNeally, the first edition of “Genesys” comes in a 4-panel digipak for collectors.
