Yes, it was about time! While other singers obviously have to escape their band’s boundaries quite early in order to dive into a variety of dodgy solo projects, Honey (singer and mastermind of WELLE: ERDBALL) took his time. Seven years, to be precise. Seven years in which he crafted this album, together with Kevin Gross (who was responsible for a big part of the WELLE: ERDBALL movie “Operation: Zeitsturm) and F. Enstein.
Seven years, never being completely satisfied with his work, which is always the case with really strong and influential artists. What came out of these efforts can be seen as the dark, the cold side of WELLE: ERDBALL – hard-floor industrial dance beats, a lot of female vocals of WELLE: ERDBALL singer Plastique, being melodic jewels at the same time. Or, as mastermind Honey puts it:
“If ‘Horror Punk’ is the girls’ equivalent to ‘Genuine Punk’, then homo~futura is the electronic answer to all this. Forget about ‘Girls Electro’ – this is ‘Girls Industrial’!”
