!distain belongs to the most treasured bands of electronic music. distain! (notice the original exclamation point location) originally was conceived in 1992 between vocalist alexander braun, oliver faig and sebastian von wyschetzki. their first release, the confession e.p., launched their career quickly in 1995 and earned the young band a devoted fan following. their much talked about cover of nirvana's, 'smells like teen spirit' sparked immediate interest in the band at a time when electronic music suffered its darkest days to the grunge era. 'cement garden', their first full-length, quickly followed on its heels and spawned the fan favorites, 'strange affection', 'dance in heaven' and 'world of stone'.
