Whore is the creation of a certain Jim Wicked and Dez Wicked both of whom previously did work for musical projects such as The Divine Chemical (voted number one industrial band in Nevada by MusicMates.com) and Null as well as stints with Sleep Now Yes and Another Liquid Ramble. After many years of introspection, misdirection, and self-destruction, Mr. and Mrs. Wicked return with a new project of music that attempts to tackle head-on the demons which haunt the very nature of existence in a combative environment of layered industrial rhythms, heavily distorted guitars, synthetic soundscapes, and pleas to a God which long ago turned it's back on the human species.
Formerly based out of the land of no hope: Las Vegas, NV, the band recently relocated to central Texas. Creation and production takes place within the confines of Borrowed Ladder, Mr. and Mrs. Wicked's synthesizer-heavy personal production studio where they have recorded, mixed, and/or mastered not only the works of Whore, but of Muggle Death Camp, All Things Invisible, Diverje and remixes for such acts as Lucid Dementia and Saturday Night Villain. In 2010, Whore finished their debut album which was then released by DSBP to great acclaim. In association with DSBP Records, Jim Wicked also contributed to the forth-coming Diverje album, 'Hate Stimulation'.
After performing a series of live shows that demonstrated the nightmarish vision of Whore, the band returned to the studio for their soon-to-be-released opus, 'The Pale Blue Dot'. Whereas their debut album focused on personal demons and dense analog synth layers influenced by the likes of Bile, Psyclon Nine, and Velvet Acid Christ, 'The Pale Blue Dot' consists of serenades to the monsters lurking in distant space set against a backdrop of heavy guitars, complex industrial noise, and minimal synthesis creating an album that is more akin to the works of Meshuggah, Fear Factory, and Morbid Angel. Blast beats prevail and down-tuned 8-string guitars provide a sonic battery that like the universe, is simultaneously brutal and beautiful.
Soon after the release of 'The Pale Blue Dot', Whore will begin work on a new album of hard electronics.
