Новый альбом "Through Distant Times" итальянского синтипоп дуэта The Shade.
info:
The Shade began in late 2011 when longtime friends Stefan and Derfel found the right moment to start talking about a music project they could work on together. Having both frequented the darkwave and new wave scenes around Italy from the late 80s, the two finally met in 1995 at the grand opening of the popular darkwave club, Shelter, located in Milan. They soon discovered they both shared a passion for music. The two friends had always talked about doing something together, but their timing was always off.
During the next decade, Derfel and Stefan both had their share of playing gigs in various local bands on the Italian scene. Derfel, known for his melody writing ability, joined an early lineup of the band Xilema, which was later signed to Sony Music Italy. Meanwhile, Stefan, an all-around talented musician and sound engineer, was playing in a band called Seventh Shadow.
Later in 2006, Derfel moved to DJing in clubs in the virtual universe of Second Life. Simultaneously, he began hosting shows on internet radio stations. His ability to carefully select material and create an atmosphere for listeners earned him a large fan following.
He also began writing reviews and conducting interviews with the popular Italian underground publication, Ascension Magazine. Stefan founded London-based Diva Suicide, which featured Belle Star (Nosferatu) on drums. He proved to be a vital member for the group, however, when the band decided to relocate to Los Angeles, Stefan chose to stay in Milan.
Over the winter holidays in 2011, Derfel and Stefan started to work on some ideas together. The result of their collaboration is a collision of everything the two members have grown up listening to; from American synthpop to British postpunk to decadent romantic sounds of the European wave scenes and beyond. Their wide variety of influences and experience form a unique balance, which gives The Shade its extraordinary sound.
