The Synthpop scene in Europe has turned a little bit Orange recently - something we can accredit to Staffordshire's Spacebuoy. Their rise to success has been as troposcopic as their name suggests.
With a-list musicians such as Vince Clarke (Erasure) happy to call themselves fans of Spacebuoy, the future is truly Orange. We picked up this act on the strength of one of many live shows, coupled with our personal interest and support for earlier releases "Fashionista" and "Breathe".
H and Jez have a formula that's simplistic, but as addictive and curious as the hidden formula for Coca-Cola. Modern Synth courts a retro melody. This affair is littered with kisses to the early 80s, yet wrapped up in an original sound. H's voice at times becomes almost slightly cosmic - giving the only real nod to the bandname.
"Intoxicated" is the second full-length, and something we simply cannot wait to unleash. Already debuted at a show in France, this is Spacebuoy at their finest - unleashed, pure, potent and Intoxicated.
We guarantee that "December" and "Heaven Sent" will send a shiver down the spine of all romantics out there. "13" and "So Easy" will win over those of you with a passion for fine synth and lyrics.
Ultimately, "Intoxicated" is one of those releases that we just can't hold in anymore - and if this isn't enough to tantalize you, we have TWO serious goodies for those of you who pre-order!
The four hidden remixers ???? will be revealed later - and we guarantee at least ONE big surprise.
