Hit-laden songs at the intersection of electro Pop and EBM. On their second album "Maschinentanz", F.O.D. effectively continue down the path they embarked on with their debut. With vocal support from ex-BLUTENGEL Eva Poelzing and a sack full of club-compatible, emotional and melodic tunes, the trio's groovy machine dance is enhanced by German and English lyrics that can be contemplative, tongue-in-cheek or rather direct. The young German electronauts avoid being easily pigeonholed, assembling a distinctive, yet brazenly catchy and eclectic sound of their own from the various stylistic possibilities that synthetic music has to offer. Serving as the long-awaited missing link between the Bodypop of AND ONE, the minimal gadgetry of WELLE:ERDBALL and the melodic electro sound of bands like SOLITARY EXPERIMENTS, "Maschinentanz" is rather effective.
