With the original version of the No.1 hit „We Do not Speak Americano“. Renato Carosone (born January 3, 1920 in Naples, † May 20, 2001 in Rome) was an Italian singer and entertainer in the 1950s. He was also considered a modern interpreter of « Canzone Napoletana », the Neapolitan song tradition. His music is part of the soundtracks of numerous films. He also starred in several films as an actor. His most famous songs are „Mambo Italiano“ and „Tu vuo ‚fa‘ l‘americano“. The latter one was covered by Yolanda Be Cool and achieved no.1 positions in the charts of many countries under the name „We Don‘t Speak Americano“. This CD includes the original from 1958 as well as 18 other songs.
