The German language tends to have a hard time on the international music scene and is habitually accused of being less expressive than the English tongue. That German speaking / singing bands may still be successful despite - or indeed even because of the use of German, has been proved by acts like Rammstein, Das Ich or Lacrimosa. ZERAPHINE from Berlin have also opted for German lyrics. The hard ZERAPHINE core consists of the lyricist / vocalist Sven Friedrich and guitarist Norman Selbig - both famous and acclaimed musicians in Germany (and elsewhere) for their previous work as members of DREADFUL SHADOWS ! Of course there are passages on ''Kalte Sonne'' that bear certain Dreadful Shadows traits, but they are accompanied by a wide range of new and unusual influences.
