The former members of the most famous French gothic band ever CORPUS DELICTI have reunited to create the new band PRESS GANG METROPOL and "Checkpoint" is their debut album!
In the 90s, Sébastien (vocals), Christophe (bass) and Franck (guitars) rose to international fame, played all over the world, from Europe to America, sold thousands of records, and established a huge reputation with an echo that is even stronger today. In fact, the band became a cult after their break up in 1996, thousands of fans following audio and video documents on the web, sharing their passion for these french musicians.
This interest led to the reissue of the three CORPUS DELICTI albums on the label D-monic, and the release in October of an official biography by the famous editor Camion Blanc in France. Before playing together again, all band members have tested out different musical landscapes: Sébastien revealed himself in his project KUTA (three albums), playing with Mike Garson, David Bowie's pianist; Franck created CURL (three albums), with John Callender, CRANES' drummer taking part in the band; and Christophe created KOM-INTERN (five albums), signed to Germany's leading industrial label Hands.
Today, PRESS GANG METROPOL present a debut that mixes energy and melody and is deliberately turned towards cold wave post-punk rock. The band find their inspiration from 80s new wave (JOY DIVISION, NEW ORDER, THE CURE, THE SOUND, DEPECHE MODE...), and more recent rock/cold wave bands (INTERPOL, EDITORS, NINE INCH NAILS). The band redefines a new sound while keeping a dark and deep energy, from melodic songs to catchy anthems, here is the new sensation of 2012, don't miss it!
The band are also preparing also their first tour, where in addition to the new tracks, they will have the pleasure to play live some of the highlights from the CORPUS DELICTI catalogue. Don't miss their first show at WGT Leipzig (25 May 2012) with RED LORRY YELLOW LORRY and THE EDEN HOUSE.
