Original release date: 28.09.2012
The second release in JLA’s ‘Three Colours’ trilogy, ‘Breathe’ is the perfect distillation of rage, a no-holds barred attack on the part of the brain that registers sound. A relentless barrage of dance beats and barbed lyrical shards, ‘Breathe’ is coupled with a glimpse at another new track, ‘Exit Strategy’, a sample-driven call to arms for anti-fascists and a statement of intent for anyone in doubt over JLA’s particular political leanings.
Like companion release ‘FYA’, this EP is bulked out with additional remixes that radically redefine the original source material courtesy of Dubstep anti-hero Danny Carnage, Scottish avant-garde duo (and Armalyte label mates) i!, and Concrete Lung’s William Riever who leads JLA through their own monolithic version of hell. JLA’s own Brydon Cheyney also contributes two remixes that drag the originals onto the Electro dance floor and beyond.
