Infacted Recordings extend their contract with the legendary Belgian electro project by releasing their fifth album!
Formed in 1994 by Geert de Wilde, and soon discovered by Dirk Ivens (KLINIK, DIVE, SONAR, ABSOLUTE BODY CONTROL), IC 434 deal with subjects as societal criticism, animal abuse, archeological mysteries and astronomical descriptions, linked with the personal experiences Geert has had with death and mental pain.
"Anhedonia" is defined as the inability to experience pleasure from activities usually found enjoyable. Although the sound of the album is still based on the 80s Korg M1, IC 434 do not create a typical old-school feeling, but a kind of timeless dark electronic, atmospherical and 'danceable' music, combining musical elements from today and earlier on.
Appreciated also as an excellent live act, IC 434 have collaborated over the years with a whole list of people such as Nicolas van Meirhaeghe (EMPUSAE), Johan van Roy (SUICIDE COMMANDO) and Guy van Mieghem (as Geert joined VOMITO NEGRO in the early 2000s). A must-have album for all fans of intelligent electro/EBM!
