Sometimes paths do not cross until they have run parallel for quite a long time. The paths of Marc and Paul, the members of The Saint Paul, did not cross until 2010, although both of them had been busy in the industrial-electro sector for many years. Both of them also performed live during these years and did so mainly in the Ruhr area (in western Germany).
Marc and Paul have always had similar musical tastes, yet each of them has a different artistic approach. Paul creates melodies that are catchy and deep at the same time while Marc likes to defamiliarize and fragmentarize existing musical parts. Both of them, however, are constantly trying to break new ground. By complementing one another, Marc and Paul create a fascinating new sound.
The Saint Paul create a sound that contains elements of dark electro, EBM and Synthpop, a sound that reminds one of New Order and OMD as well as of Project Pichtfork and Skinny Puppy and is yet unique in its mixture and ambivalence.
The Saint Paul are danceable and formidable, familiar and strange, catchy and digressive, holy and heathen: Saul and Paul.
